In 1995, the Institute of Engineering Thermophysics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences began to develop circulating fluidized bed technology for the incineration of municipal solid waste and to build a 100 tons/day demonstration project in Shangzhuang, Haidian District, Beijing. The project received support from “Incineration and Comprehensive Utilization of Urban Solid Waste”, a major applied research and development project of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and “Development of Urban Waste Incineration Technology”, a “Ninth Five-Year Plan” national key scientific and technological research project. In 2000, it passed the joint acceptance of the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
In 2001, China Sciences Group collaborated with the Institute of Engineering Thermophysics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences to venture into the field of environmental protection by developing innovative and then industry-leading circulating fluidized bed incineration WTE technology and promoted its application in the equipment market. In 2005 and 2007, China Sciences Group invested in projects in Ningbo and Cixi, respectively, to demonstrate the industrial application of this technology and the Group’s comprehensive (covering the whole value chain from investment to construction, and operation) project implementation capacity.
From 2012 to 2021, through the introduction and localization of Vølund's grate furnace technology, CSET was among the first to demonstrate how to change the basic technology used by incineration power plants from circulating fluidized bed to grate furnace without stopping production. By also successfully expanding and continuously improving its domestic waste treatment capacity and accumulating high-quality projects, it has laid the foundation for future high-quality development.
On July 8, 2022, CSET completed its IPO and was listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange's ChiNext board. By steady development, continuous innovation and business expansion (into areas such as smart power plant, treatment industrial solid waste, related equipment and technical services, etc.), CSET is well on its way to becoming an outstanding enterprise that creates better environment through technology.
